Upcoming trail races for the weekend of 4/20 & 4/21

With the weather giving us plenty of trail time lately I have been able to log many more trail miles than in months past. I'm really excited about racing on some of these trails as it has been several months since I have done a "local" trail event. I've decided on one so far (Horseshoe Lake in May!)and am quickly narrowing down my choices thereafter. If your not already running one of the big road races being held this weekend (Presidio 10),  then take a look at whats coming up this weekend to help fill up your race calendar.

Upcoming Races for the weekend of 3/9 & 3/10

The "big race" for me this year will likely be this weekends Way Too Cool 50k. This race is wildly popular and people from all over the world want to run it. More people want to run this race than the trails will allow so they have to hold a lottery for the racers to get into this race and I just happen to get "picked" to run this. That is a big thrill on the one hand because I am going to be running with some of the best ultra runners in the world but on the other hand I am missing out on a really good race in the bay area this weekend. For trail runners looking to race this weekend you don't really have much of a choice. Most race directors realize that most trail runners will be either running or volunteering at the WTC 50k so they purposely don't book an event this weekend. Luckily Enviro-Sports has an event!

You'll fall in love with San Francisco all over again as you follow this hilly loop trail circumnavigating Angel Island. Along the way, savor the panoramic vistas of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, Alcatraz Island, the East Bay and Marin County. The 12K is a single loop. The 25K does the loop twice.
