November 2015 Trail Racing Calendar for the San Francisco Bay Area

See the complete 2015 calendar here

A few months ago I regarded November as a light month for races. I had about 10 on my list and that's half as many races as almost any other month. As November drew closer I searched for any trail runs I may have missed. I found 3 more races to add to the calendar giving us a total of 13 races to choose from in November. Theirs quite a bit of diversity to choose from including a few Thanksgiving themed trail runs like the brand new Gobble Wobble in El Sobrante.

Bay Area Thanksgiving themed runs in 2014

Halloween is the official kick-off to the holiday season and New Years is the wrap up. Food is always an issue this time of year. Either you eat to much and have to burn a few calories or you don't have enough to eat and need a little help. Thank goodness for the holiday races where we can burn calories and support our local charities. If you are looking to offset the Thanksgiving Day (weekend) feastapalooza or if you want to support the less fortunate and give back to the Bay Area Community sign up for or volunteer at one of these turkey themed events!

Thanksgiving holiday hikes in the bay area!

Mid Peninsula Open Space Preserve in fog
Everybody has heard of and probably participated in a Turkey Trot. Some did their annual run this last weekend while others will wait until the traditional Thursday morning or first Saturday following Thanksgiving to burn a few extra calories. Have you ever heard of a Turkey Trek? No, me neither but you can learn all about it in the Mid Peninsula Open Space Preserve's Fall 2012 newsletter. On page 16 they have 3 activities listed to help get you out of the house and into the woods over the holiday weekend.
