Quite some time ago I got sick of my Sirius Satellite radio. Local FM radio offered me nothing but I did find a few shows on AM radio that interested me. It was national politics mostly with a light sprinkling of local or regional news. That got old pretty quick because I align with the libertarians more often than not so the nonsense (IMO) that I was hearing just got old and frustrating. Then I found Stitcher.com. by suggestion of a good friend of mine. I'm sure other podcast sites are available but I know nothing of them as I have not needed any audio entertainment from anything but Stitcher, sort of. For those who aren't familiar, a Podcast is essentially a the same thing as a radio show with far fewer if any commercials. Some people put out 30 minute shows while others put out multi hour long shows. Some put out a new show everyday others are random and sporadic. I don't listen to any music shows although I have listened to "The Podrunner" which is a music show that plays techno music at a very specific beat per minute so you can train to run at that beat. I like the talk shows that both entertain and inform and I think I have found some of the most cutting edge information on health & overall wellness just by turning on my smartphone or laptop. I listen to shows on trail running, ultrarunning, triathalons, endurance sports in general, nutrition, diet and the list could go on and on. Take a look at the list below and give a listen to a few of these. They are great for long commutes!
