Christmas themed runs in the Bay Area 2013

Christmas time is another unique time for the sport of running. Just like Thanksgiving, runners come out of the wood work to run and volunteer at the many, many runs offered all over the Bay Area. Our sport is cool that way. We raise a ton of money for charity and we dress up in whacky costumes. We have 15 runs available to us this year including costume runs an ugly sweater run (lol) and even an underwear run! Join in the fun and support our local charities by running or volunteering at one of the following holiday themed races.

Bay Area Thanksgiving themed runs in 2014

Halloween is the official kick-off to the holiday season and New Years is the wrap up. Food is always an issue this time of year. Either you eat to much and have to burn a few calories or you don't have enough to eat and need a little help. Thank goodness for the holiday races where we can burn calories and support our local charities. If you are looking to offset the Thanksgiving Day (weekend) feastapalooza or if you want to support the less fortunate and give back to the Bay Area Community sign up for or volunteer at one of these turkey themed events!

Attention Trail Runners: We need your help with a very worthy cause.

If you are from the south bay or are an avid trail runner chances are you have heard of TCTRuns.com (Troys California Trail Runs) because of their massively popular races that are held down that way. TCT holds races all over Northern California but a good portion of those runs are located in the greater San Jose area parks. TCT has a race coming up next month being held at the Almaden Quicksilver Park that is appropriately named "Well Water for Africa Adventure Race". In road racing it is very common for races to benefit designated charities but you don't see that as much in the trail racing and this is our chance to run one for a cause.

Save Mount Diablo: 40 Years Preserving, Defending and Restoring

This weekend is the Diablo Trails Challenge hosted by Brazen Racing. A portion of all entry fees collected will go to Save Mount Diablo to help them continue preserving open space and trails for all of us to enjoy. From the Save Mount Diablo website, "Since Save Mount Diablo's founding in 1971, preserved open space has increased from less than 7,000 acres to over 110,000 acres in more than 40 parks. Mount Diablo is still threatened by development. That could mean the loss of wildlife corridors, ecosystems and recreational opportunities. Your support will preserve these natural lands forever to safeguard our quality of life, including the quality of our air, water and views."  For more information on ways you can help click here.
See you at the race!

Thanksgiving Themed Runs in the Bay Area 2013

It's officially the holiday season as far as Im concerned. Halloween is the kick off and New Years is the wrap up. Food is always an issue this time of year. It seems like the best desserts are served and the most delicious dinner parties happen this time of year and it is hard to be health conscious about it all. Thank goodness for the holiday races. If you, like me, are looking to offset the Thanksgiving Day (weekend) feastapalooza or if you want to support the less fortunate and give back to the Bay Area Community sign up for (or volunteer at) one of these turkey themed events!
