Mid Peninsula Runners Unite!!!

The free group run that I was asked to help put together was a success. The people that showed up had a good time learning for the first 5 minutes that running is not the same as walking in terms of "how to" and then we were off. We ran out to the bay and back which was a total of about 3.5 miles. While running we chatted about all things running related and got to know each other just a little bit. Most of the people I talked to were casual runners who occassionally go out for a run just to maintain fitness or health. One of the girls in the group was a more regular runner and she seemed the most capable as well. All of the runners completed the distance without too much of a struggle and afterwards we just hung out and answered more questions about running, nutrition, stretching, shoes etc. etc. Those who participated in the run were treated to 20% off on all merchandise in the store which I thought was super cool of the Dethrone managment. When I was just about to leave, me and one other guy decided to stick around and do the Base Camp workout and that was awesome. We have decided to continue this every Tuesday at 5:30 pm. Runners of all abilities are encouraged to come run with us. It's a good time full of good info and Dethrone will give you a free workout afterwards if you have never tried it before. Stop by the Dethrone Base Camp in Burlingame, CA on California Drive and join the Mid Peninsula Runners Group every Tuesday. Anybody who is looking to get better as an all around athlete or those who just want to drop the winter weight, here is the answer.
