Ketogenic Coffee for Christmas and my fat burning recipe

Fat Burning Coffee at its finest!
My wife is awesome. This is one of the Christmas gifts that absolutely blew my mind. She knows I won't spend the money to buy the nicer ingredients for my Ketogenic Coffee so she gave them to me as a Christmas gift. How awesome is that!
 The 3 ingredients are:
1) MCT Oil (Medium Chain Triglyceride Oil)
2) Organic Single Bean Coffee
3) Ghee (Clarified, Organic, Grass Fed Butter)
Not Pictured is my 4th ingredient, Cinnamon.

Normally I would use coconut oil instead of MCT oil due to the price of the MCT Oil. Coconut oil is about 60- 70% MCT. The only other source that I know of for MCT is Palm Kernel Oil but that is not as readily available.

I generally bounce between store bought (Maxwell House, Folgers Etc) coffee and Starbucks or Peet's coffee beans that I grind at home. These readily available coffee's are said to contain Mycotoxins that are inflammatory to the body. If you can find a small batch, organic, single bean (as opposed to a mix of different beans) coffee you are more likely to avoid these Mycotoxins. The problem with that is in visiting these small boutique coffee houses and asking the manager, who may or may not know, if the beans are single or mixed. Dave Asprey from the BulletProofExec.com sells a single bean coffee but it is expensive. My opinion on the matter is that I want the fats to deliver the caffeine and terpene's to my brain and if I have to risk a bit of inflammation to do so then so be it, at least I saved a buck and a bunch of time and trouble (read:LAZY). Now that I have 10lbs of good coffee it isn't an issue anymore!

Ghee is a type of clarified butter. In this case it is 100% organic grass fed butter that is boiled and all of the residue that rises to the top of the boil is removed. In other words, its all of the good parts of grass fed butter and no impurities. I normally by Kerrygold Unsalted Grass Fed Butter because it is widely available and affordable. Ghee can be found in nicer grocery stores but in small expensive quantities.

Here is my recipe for the best coffee in the world.

  • 20oz of Brewed Black Coffee
  • 1 tbs Kerrygold Grass Fed Butter (use 2 tbs if no Ghee)
  • 1 tbs of Ghee
  • 1 tbs of Coconut Oil (use 2tbs if no MCT oil)
  • 1 tbs of MCT oil
  • 2 big shakes of cinnamon (helps with adrenal fatigue and insulin sensitivity)
  • OPTIONAL: Collagen Based Protein Powder (with no carbs... pricey)
Blend this up with a blender (or the much easier stick blender) and enjoy a fat torching, appetite satisfying, brain boosting drink that takes one kind of dairy out (cream, half & half, milk) and substitutes in a much better dairy that will literally blow your mind!
